Who Is Jesus

Jesus as Savior

Jesus is the ultimate Savior, embodying divine love and redemption. As stated in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus offers salvation to all who place their trust in Him. He is the way, the truth, and the life, providing a path to reconciliation with God and the promise of eternal life. In recognizing Jesus as Savior, one acknowledges the profound grace and mercy extended to humanity through His selfless act of redemption.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
— John 3:16

Jesus as Friend

In the Gospel of John, Jesus refers to His followers as friends, saying, "No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you" (John 15:15, ESV). This designation goes beyond a mere master-disciple relationship, emphasizing a deep, personal connection. Jesus is a constant companion, understanding our joys and struggles. His friendship is marked by unconditional love, compassion, and the assurance that He is with us always, offering solace and guidance in every season of life.

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
— John 15:15

Jesus as Lord

As proclaimed in Philippians 2:9-11, "Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Jesus, as Lord, holds supreme authority over all creation. Acknowledging Him as Lord involves submitting to His sovereignty, recognizing His divine majesty, and aligning one's life with His teachings. Jesus as Lord is not just a title; it is an acknowledgment of His rightful place as the ruler of our hearts and the ultimate authority in our lives.

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
— Philippians 2:9–11
